Cat Closet

Ahh, the wonders of the cat closet.  When I first moved into my apartment, there was a "hallway" closet with a sliding mirror as a door.  I removed the mirror door (put it in my storage unit) and filled in the space with the cats' feeding bowls and litter box.  For a while, I had a bright orange, rather ugly, curtain hanging there (not to mention a shower curtain rod holding it up).  I decided to give this project another go, and so the cat closet got a new curtain last weekend!
This project was quite ironic.  First of all, because as soon as I put the curtain up, the cats managed to play around and tear it down, leaving big, dark-colored gashes on the wall from the rod (good thing for Mr. Clean's Magic Erasers!).  Secondly, this project involved ironing on my very first no-stitch hem! Durrr!
The curtain (which came from IKEA) was much too long, so I folded it over and pinned it to a length that was closer to the closet's height.  Then I cut along the fold, ironed down some Heat n' Bond, folded the "seam" over and ironed again (worst. description. ever.).  Alas, because of the cats' tendency to play with the curtain and tear it down, it is currently draped over the upper part of the closet to keep it out of their reach.  Another lesson in "why cats ruin everything you own".
